Overview
Carlo’s Electric Limited began operation in 1962 when Carlo Fornasier, saw an opportunity to use his practical knowledge as an electrical engineer and master electrician to begin an electrical contracting business. With this knowledge and his strong work ethic, Carlo’s Electric Limited soon became a major force in the Durham and the Metropolitan Toronto areas.
Over the past 40 years, Carlo’s Electric Limited has grown to become the largest Electrical Contractor based in the Durham Region, performing all facets of electrical contracting in all sectors of the construction industry. We offer a wide range of services specializing in high-rise residential, institutional, commercial and industrial work, and have attained a reputation of performing quality workmanship at a competitive rate. From our centrally located office and warehouse in Oshawa, we serve the geographic area from Kingston to Hamilton and north to Sudbury.
Project Management and Cost Control
Carlo’s Electric Limited is proud of our efficient and timely completion of large projects and our ability to work closely with the various members of the project team such as the Architect, Electrical Consulting Engineers, Construction Manager, General contractors and all other Sub-trades.
We use the latest technology of an integrated cost management, estimating and accounting system, which gives us the capability of accurately updating “Cost to Complete” information on a daily basis as needed.
We feel that by co-operating and maintaining an open dialogue with the construction manager, general site foreman and other sub-trades, even the most stringent and realistic construction schedule can be maintained.
Partnering
Our team approach to the completion of each project has proven to be most effective means of success for Carlo’s Electric Limited. By having regular co-ordination meetings before, and as various construction phases begin, all parties concerned will understand the importance of their section of the work and how it relates to the work of other trades.
Through partnering and stressing the team approach, many on site co-ordination and logistic problems are dealt with in advance.
Staff
Carlo’s Electric Limited currently employs a permanent field staff of over 75 tradesmen and 12 administrative and support staff.
All of these staff members have been employed by Carlo’s Electric Limited and have been in their present positions from 7 to 40 years on all of our major projects.
